The Department of Chemical Engineering at BUET is one of Bangladesh’s pioneering engineering departments, established in 1948. It has contributed significantly to engineering education, research, and industry for more than six decades. The department offers B.Sc., M.Sc. Engineering, and Ph.D. programs, admitting 120 undergraduate students annually. Its research covers process systems, environment, energy, biochemical engineering, polymers, safety, and materials science. The department also provides industrial testing and consultancy services through the Bureau of Research, Testing and Consultation (BRTC).
