ChE faculty member receives Prime Minister Gold Medal 2018

Swarit Ahmed Shadman, who recently joined as a lecturer in the department, graduated with the highest CGPA in the academic year 2018 among the graduates of Faculty of Engineering in BUET. The Prime Minister Gold Medal acknowledges the achievement of graduates with the highest CGPA in their respective faculties across all universities of Bangladesh. One hundred and seventy-two students from 36 universities, who secured the highest marks or CGPAs in their faculties, received the Prime Minister Gold Medal-2018 on February 26, 2020. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over the gold medals to the students as the chief guest at the Shapla Hall of Prime Minister’s Office. Congratulations Swarit Ahmed Shadman!

 

 

Training on Good Laboratory Practices

Department of Chemical Engineering, BUET is conducting an extensive training program for the Chemists and Officials of Department of Environment (DoE), Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The training program comprises of three modules. Module#1 includes housekeeping and safety, toxicity, and laboratory safety guidelines. Module#2 includes hands on training on monitoring Water Quality and assessing different physical, chemical and biological parameters. Module#3 includes hands on training on sample collection and Air Quality Monitoring. 30 chemists and officials of DoE divisional and regional offices are taking part in this training program conducted in three individual batches. Prof. Syeda Sultana Razia, Dr. Mohidus Samad Khan and Dr. Shoeb Ahmed of Department of Chemical Engineering (BUET) are conducting modules 1, 2, 3, respectively. The Head of the Department, Prof. Shoukat Choudhury announced the opening of the training program on March 1, 2015. The training program will end on April 8, 2015.
