BUET Researchers have Received Best Paper Awards and Young Scientist Award at the 2nd International Conference on Food Properties (iCFP2016), Bangkok, Thailand

Recently Dr. Mohidus Samad Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, BUET, and his research group (BET Group) received three prestigious awards at the 2nd International Conference on Food Properties (iCFP2016), Bangkok, Thailand, May 31-June 2, 2016. The theme of iCFP2016 was: ‘Utilization of Food Properties for Food Security’. Scientists from 24 countries participated in the event. A total of 121 papers were presented in the conference which covered new process developments for new food products and their properties.

At the conference, Dr. Khan and his team presented two papers on ‘Food and Health’ issues, which are published in the conference proceedings (ISBN: 9780980825138). Both the papers received ‘iCFP2016 Best Paper Awards’. Dr. Mohidus Samad Khan has been awarded the ‘iCFP2016 Young Scientist Award’ in recognition of the outstanding young researcher in iCFP2016. The certificates were handed over by Professor Md. Shafiur Rahman, Chair iCFP2016, to the participants on the final day of the conference.

  • iCFP2016 Best Paper Award on Mass Transfer Properties, Mass-volume-area related Properties & Mechanical Properties Track for the paper entitled: ‘Analyzing Diffusivity of Formaldehyde in Formalin Treated Fish Samples: ‘Catla catla’’.
  • iCFP2016 Best Paper Award on Health and Wellness & Medicinal Properties Track for the paper entitled: ‘Measuring and Analyzing Dental Erosion Caused by Beverages and Bottled Drinking Water in Bangladesh’.
